So I did 3.9 miles this morning in 38:23 minutes. The time’s a bit off ‘cause I didn’t actually stop the clock until I’d climbed the stairs, locked the door and started the whole “I need to shower” process. Felt good though =)

Penny Arcade is brilliant.
I love this quote:
“We are always enthused when they give you somebody to play as who isn’t a sorcerous monk; it has the additional effect of making the sorcerous monks that you do see even scarier than they already were. You can set a clock by these Goddamn Jedi: they turn to the dark side on the regular. They’ll turn to the dark side if it means they don’t have to walk all the way to the kitchen to get a soda. Their internal narrative will somehow connect their momentary thirst with the fate of the greater galaxy.”
If you play video games and appreciate wit, you should already know about Penny Arcade. Go here and go through the archives:
Aaron got me…
…a Kindle. “The Hunger Games” was completed within 24 or so hours. Quite good. Now on to “Catch Fire.” It’s going to get increasingly difficult to kill enough demons and read enough books and find enough interesting content (other than men in various states of undress) for me to keep up with games, reading and tumbling.
Yet more travel…
I assumed the move to Cloud Management would involve less travel than my current position on the migrations / deployment team. However, it seems like I’m going to be traveling to California during the last full week of June, in addition to the oft-mentioned week in the Philippines sometime in July. …I need to start working on my passport.
Our newest family member, Sydney.
So for you Alias people, that’s right. We have a Sydney and an Irina. :)
I really, genuinely regret my stupidity on the subject of Sydney. She was awesome.
I hate travelling…
…but it’s happening. Got to go to Miami for two days for a go-live the week of Memorial Day, then sometime soon I’ll be spending an undisclosed amount of time in Manilla (no, not Luzon) to train Cloud Management reps.
Finally!
I got to play Diablo 3 for a few hours last night. Started a witch doctor ‘cause I like having a line of minions between me and the bad guys. Level cap is 60, I got to level 9. Corpse spiders are interesting, especially when you get the skill rune to make them jump around. Pretty decent AoE, but then it’s also pretty good focused damage if there’s only one enemy around. Fairly fire-and-forget. I’m curious about “The Stranger”. In Diablo 2 he turned out to be Diablo, but given the implications around his sword, the dire news, that he fell and the blue aura, I have a theory about who it is =P
